New Year, New Shops
With the New Year comes new and exciting projects for 2020! Construction of four new commercial buildings is underway at Sage Creek Village Centre North. With these new buildings come new tenants who are anxiously awaiting to open their doors to the public. We are excited to announce the first four tenants in Village Centre North.
Tommy Gun’s Barber Shop
Residents will soon be able to get a cut and style from Tommy Gun’s Barber Shop here in Sage Creek! The barbershop is inspired by the original 1930s Chicago barbershop while using all of today’s modern amenities. Guests can receive hot towel shaves, haircuts and more! This comfortable setting offers guests a drink on the house and their own personal TVs.
“We chose to open in Sage Creek because it’s a beautiful up-and-coming neighbourhood in Winnipeg in which we feel will connect well with the Tommy Gun’s brand,” says Chris Pollock, national marketing manager of Tommy Gun’s Barber Shop.
“We can’t wait to be a part of the Sage Creek community. Knowing how quickly the community is growing and how it’s becoming a dynamic hub, we’re excited to service it with the Tommy Gun’s experience and ensure we leave every guest with the confidence they deserve,” adds Pollock.
Tommy Gun’s Barber Shop will also offer an app to provide an easy booking process and real-time check-ins.
Edo Japan
A little Japanese flavour is about to heat up Sage Creek! Inspired by the tastes, sights and sounds of Japan, this Canadian company offers both dine-in and take out options for freshly made teppan-style teriyaki meals using their signature sauce.
“We chose Sage Creek because it is an up and coming area and we want to be entrenched in the community; we see a lot of potential in Sage Creek,” says Mackenzie Tarbox, head of marketing at Edo Japan.
Edo Japan uses cuts of Canadian beef and chicken with fresh vegetables that are never frozen, cooked on a Teppanyaki grill that sears to lock-in flavours.
“We hope to bring Edo Japan’s famous hospitality, fresh made-to-order teppan-style teriyaki meals and freshly made sushi to the Sage Creek community,” explains Tarbox. “We have tons of options like ramen and udon soups, noodle bowls and bento boxes so there is something for everyone.”
Guests are able to pre-order and pre-pay through the my edo app to quickly pick-up their meals and avoid lines. Plus, users get a free meal after six orders! To make it even easier for customers, this locally operated restaurant also offers delivery through food aggregators such as Skip the Dishes, DoorDash and more!
Sage Creek Massage Therapy
Sage Creek Massage Therapy has been providing residents with massage services since 2016 out of registered massage therapist Olga Beloconi’s home clinic at 421 Sage Creek Boulevard. The business has become a well-known practice within the community and with its success, has outgrown its current location.
This year Beloconi will be taking Sage Creek Massage Therapy to the next level by moving into the Village Centre once their building is complete. Residents can enjoy a variety of massages from relaxation, deep tissue, sports, myofascial, reflexology, and hot stone massages to name a few, with many more coming soon.
“Our goal is to bring long lasting feelings of well-being to the community, says Beloconi, owner of Sage Creek Massage Therapy. “We do this by helping our clients live their healthiest lives through the use of massage therapy and physical activity to relieve pain.”
Dollarama
Picking up odds and ends will become a whole lot easier for Sage Creek residents. Canada’s leading dollar store will be coming to the Village Centre to provide residents with an array of everyday products, craft items and seasonal merchandise.
Once these four new commercial buildings are complete, tenants are aiming to open their businesses in late 2020/early 2021.
Von Riesen Hair Co.
Along with these four new tenants, Von Riesen Hair Co. is set to open early 2020 in the last remaining space in the existing two-storey building on Burning Glass Road. Located between 9Round Fitness and Sage Creek Eye Centre, Von Riesen Hair Co. will be offering high-end boutique services at an affordable price. The salon’s owners aim to provide excellent customer service while utilizing their years of experience with top-quality products.
On behalf of the Sage Creek community, we’d like to officially give these businesses a warm welcome to Sage Creek! Stay tuned for more information as we’ll be sure to share more details once we receive them.
